30 Activities to Keep Kids Busy in the Fall

Keeping kids busy during the fall is no easy task. As the leaves begin to fall, it is important to find those projects to keep kiddos occupied as we transition from being outside all the time to not-so-much. Whether you have a toddler or a 14-year-old most of these activities will help keep either age kid busy. 

 

  1. Go on a hike
  2. Find big leaves and dry them between two pages in a book
  3. Decorate the house for Halloween
  4. Find a corn maze
  5. Enjoy a family movie night, a scary movie if you dare.
  6. Go on a fall themed scavenger hunt
  7. Make Halloween costumes
  8. Go Pumpkin Picking
  9. Carve pumpkins
  10. Make pumpkin seeds
  11. Go apple picking
  12. Make candy or caramel apples (or both)

  14. Make fall themed paper Mache’ animals
  15. Make an inside fort
  16. Make raking the leaves a game of who can make the biggest pile then jump in it!
  17. Make a game of cleaning out your closet of summer calls
  18. Make turkey’s for the fridge by tracing your hands and coloring them in
  19. Do an exercise video together (go on youtube there are tons!)
  20. Have a backyard campfire with smores
  21. Go for a bike ride
  22. Enjoy a family movie night, a scary movie if you dare.
  23. Find a drive in Movie Theater to go to.
  24. Have a story night/story time.
  25. Head to the Library and check out some new books
  26. Find a field and play some soccer
  27. Enjoy a local football game together
  28. Make a time-machine box
  29. Go outside and take a an improtu photo-shoot.
  30. Spend time device free with the kiddo talking about goals and what they want to be when they grow up.
